The time has come! I finally grew up, and made a decision to go back to the "oldschool" rear lights style.

I used the original lamps (AXO and SEIMA) from 1986 and 1987. They were in good condition. Before fitting them on the car I polished the plastic so now they look like new!

How do You like the new look of my XRD? :)

I kinda got used to making the monologues here, but lately I started wandering why I am mainly talking to myself here. There two possibilities - You simply don't understand the foreign languages and just look at the photos, or just don't give a fuck about me and my posts on this forum. Well, I don't care too, so here are another photos. This time from my trip to Slovenia.

I drove 2050 kilometers. From Cracow to Ljubljana, and then further to Isola, Porto Rose, and Pirano and back to Cracow via Vienna and Brno.

Hello my friends!
This time I would like to share with you photos from my latest trip behind the wheel of 205 XRD.
A year after the unforgetable trip to Albania we decided to discover Romania. We drove the famous Transalpina and Transfogaresa highway. We got stuck in the snowdrifts 2000 meters above the sea level. One of our cars even fell down the slope and crashed, but we managed to pull it back with the tractor :)

Altoghether I made 4012 kilometers in 11 days. The fuel consumption was really OK. High in the mountains and on the highways it was 5.25 litres per 100 kilometers, and on my way back home the diesel burned 4.44 litres per 100 km.

During the whole trip I had to refill some oil. On the whole route I used the 0.9 litre of engine oil. And I think it's not much.

OK, I have to quit talking, because it would have to be a long, long story, so I am just posting some photos from the trip. Enjoy watching!

Starting the XUD7 motor is always the best part for me. Every morning it wakes up fresh and ready to work and to drive me wherever I want.

This is how it worked 3 years ago, after I bought it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVbLtu4AkfM

And this is how it started last year.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iLS83KEMzA

Even when there's -20 degrees outside it starts like this. The secret is - good starter motor, good spark plugs, and the battery. I used to have Zap +30 power (80 AH, 700A), and now I have Bosch Gigawat 74 AH, 680 A.

Driving this diesel as a daily driver is a great thing to enjoy 205 all year round. Only a nice DTurbo with the panoramic sunroof could make me leave my XRD 8)

Latest news 8)

This winter I have made some service work with my diesel. Three weeks ago new Valeo clutch replaced the old and used LUK.
I had to change the rear driveshaft too. And later the right wheel bearing as well.

Earlier I had to service the brake drums and replace the handbrake cables. I also replaced the door & trunk locks. I used a new Valeo set.

And today I visited the scrapyard, where I found something I've been searching for a long, long time. The XUD Veglia clocks :rirejaune:

Another update.
Some time ago I managed to buy a nice addition to my little 205 - the original wooden steering wheel - Raid Italy. It was mentioned in few accesories catalogues in the beginning of the 1990's. This is actually a wooden set, as there is a gear knob too.

As for now I only mounted the steering wheel. I don't want to change the knob, because I am afraid of damaging it.

Here are the photos and a catalogue scan. Tell me what you think of that little change in the interior

Hey, nice to see that you're not afraid of crossing borders with your 205. And you're right, it's so nice to travel in those :D

Is there actually many 205 still up and running in Poland ? Otherwise it must be hard to find spare parts when you need them !
